Following the January launch of Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro in India, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, speculation about the upcoming Vivo X200 series has begun to circulate online. Reports suggest that the Vivo X200 and Vivo X200 Pro will be equipped with MediaTek’s next flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400. This new chipset, identified by the model number MT6991, is expected to compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and may utilize TSMC’s advanced second-generation 3nm N3E node technology.
A tipster known as Smart Pikachu on Weibo has indicated that the Vivo X200 series will likely be the first smartphones to feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset. Vivo previously led the way by incorporating the Dimensity 9300 SoC into its Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro models. Additionally, the Vivo X100s and Vivo X100s Pro were launched with the Dimensity 9300 Plus SoC.
Leaked Specifications of MediaTek Dimensity 9400
According to another Weibo tipster, Digital Chat Station, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is rumored to carry the MT6991 model number and could be built using TSMC’s second-generation 3nm N3E node. This technology is said to reduce power consumption by up to 34% compared to its predecessors. The chipset is expected to maintain a similar core structure to the Dimensity 9300, featuring a Cortex-X5 performance core clocked at 3.4 GHz.
An early Geekbench benchmark listing reveals that the Dimensity 9400 scored 2,776 points in single-core performance and 11,739 points in multi-core performance. This positions the chipset as a strong competitor against Samsung’s Exynos 2500 and Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
