OnePlus 12R buyers who opted for the higher storage variant can request a full refund until mid-March, the company announced on Friday. The handset was mistakenly listed with UFS 4.0 storage instead of the intended UFS 3.1. Launched alongside the OnePlus 12 flagship, the 12R features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 16GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. In a follow-up to his previous explanation on the OnePlus Community forum earlier this week, OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu clarified on Friday that customers who purchased the 256GB storage variant of the OnePlus 12R could seek a refund until March 16.
Liu also mentioned that the company’s customer service teams are fully aware of the situation. According to Liu’s statement, buyers need to contact OnePlus’ customer service to address the file system issue and request a refund. This allows purchasers of the OnePlus 12R to return their device within the one-month refund window ending on March 16. Launched in India and global markets last month, the OnePlus 12R comes with Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 out-of-the-box and features a 6.78-inch LTPO 4.0 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, it offers up to 16GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. For imaging, the OnePlus 12R boasts a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It also includes a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The device houses a 5,000mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC charging support.
