The launch of Nothing Phone 2a, the company’s third smartphone, is scheduled for next month. Expected to be a more affordable version of the Nothing Phone 2, leaks in recent months have provided insights into what to expect from this upcoming handset by the UK startup led by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei. It remains uncertain whether the Nothing Phone 2a will feature the Glyph interface on its rear panel.
A brief video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) confirmed the impending arrival of the Nothing Phone 2a, slated for launch on March 5 at 11:30 GMT (5 pm IST). Additionally, a post on the company’s India-specific X account affirmed that the handset will debut in India on the same date. A dynamic event page on Nothing’s website disclosed that the smartphone will be available for purchase via Flipkart.
While the teaser video didn’t disclose further details about the Nothing Phone 2a, it showcased two blinking white dots on a black background, which were later replaced with the words “Fresh. Eyes.” Subsequently, five pairs of white dots blinked and gazed at the words. This could potentially hint at the rear camera setup of the upcoming smartphone.
Earlier leaks indicate that the Nothing Phone 2a will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip and operate on Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 out-of-the-box. The device is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup. Expect more details about the smartphone to surface in the lead-up to its launch.
