Xiaomi’s latest iteration of its Android skin, HyperOS, has been steadily making its way to eligible smartphone models across the country since its initial release at the close of February. Now, the tech giant has unveiled the upcoming phase of the HyperOS rollout, extending to a wide array of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones and tablets in the Indian market. Notably, Xiaomi’s latest lineup of handsets, smart home gadgets, and electric vehicles, including the highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7, are all slated to operate on HyperOS.
In a recent announcement via X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi divulged its detailed plan for the HyperOS rollout throughout the second quarter of 2024. Among the plethora of eligible devices set to receive the update are popular models such as the Xiaomi 11 Lite, Xiaomi 11i, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 10, Redmi K50i, Redmi 12, Redmi 11 Prime, as well as the Redmi 13C series and Redmi Note 11 series. Additionally, the Xiaomi Pad 5 is also slated for a HyperOS upgrade.
Users can anticipate a slew of enhancements upon receiving the HyperOS update on their Xiaomi and Redmi devices. These include improvements in system performance, task management efficiency, and message delivery responsiveness. Moreover, the update promises a reduction in the amount of system storage consumption, resulting in more available space for users. Even tasks like downloading and installing over-the-air (OTA) updates are slated to be expedited compared to MIUI 14.
Furthermore, users can look forward to an array of new features and visual enhancements with HyperOS. This includes custom lock screen options, revamped control center, icons, and fonts, as well as productivity-oriented functionalities like Workstation Mode for tablets and seamless interconnectivity between devices, such as screen mirroring from phone to tablet via Xiaomi Smart Hub.
Xiaomi has already initiated the HyperOS rollout for select devices, including the Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 13 series, and various other Redmi smartphones, alongside updates for the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Redmi Pad. The company plans to extend the HyperOS update to additional handsets and tablets in the coming months, ensuring an enhanced user experience across its product ecosystem.
