Full Review
Design
The Honor 20i has a polycarbonate rear panel which flaunts as a gradient design. Honor also claims that the finish has been achieved with the help of a 3D photolithography process. The Honor 20i also comes in the two colour options of Midnight Black and Phantom Red, but the latter lacks a dual-tone finish and also looks much more understated. The rim keeping both the rear and front panels together is also made out of the thick plastic and has a glossy finish.
Display
The Honor 20i sports a 6.21-inch HD+ display renders crisp content and with the vibrant colours. Viewing angles are good, and the brightness level is also up to the mark. The level of detail which one can see on the Honor 20’s display is also higher.
Honor 20i’s display temperature slightly too warm by default, but you can change this by switching to the Vivid colour mode in the display settings. There is also an option to adjust the display temperature.
The smart resolution feature automatically tones down the resolution from the Full HD+ to HD+ in order to save the power. For a much greater reading experience, the Honor 20i offers a reading mode that impacts a yellowish tint to the display and cuts down on the blue light exposure.
Software
On the software side, the Honor 20i runs on the EMUI 9.0.1 based on the Android Pie. EMUI 9.0.1 provides with a tone of features and customization options, right from disabling or enabling an app drawer to select between the three different gesture navigation schemes.
Performance
As per the performance, the Kirin 710 powering the Honor 20i proved to be as a reliable workhorse. The phone did not lag or even shutter at the time of day to day usage, even with the 10 to 15 apps running in the background. Switching between the different apps was smooth, and the swipe-based navigation gestured worked without a hitch.
Battery Life
On the battery endurance figures, the Honor 20i’s 3400mAh battery which is barely managed to last via full workday involving the social media app usage, listening to music, web browsing, occasional calls, and around 45 minutes of gaming.
Camera
On the photography department, the Honor 20i has a 24MP+8MP+2MP triple rear camera setup. The primary lens has an f/1.8 aperture; the secondary lens is an ultra-wide sensor, while on the other hand, the third lens is a depth sensor. There are some of the great camera features such as the Portrait Mode, Beauty mode and more. It supports 1080p video recording. On the front photography part, the smartphone has a 32MP selfie snapper with the HDR support and f/2.0 aperture.
