On March 4, Apple unveiled its latest offerings in the MacBook Air lineup, introducing two new models featuring the cutting-edge 3nm M3 chipset. Alongside the processor upgrade, the tech giant has incorporated several minor enhancements in its refreshed MacBook Air series for the year 2024. Notably, Apple is touting a remarkable battery life of up to 18 hours with these upgraded laptops, following last year’s refresh of the MacBook Pro lineup, which saw the introduction of the M3 SoC to its flagship-tier laptops.
Pricing and Availability of the Apple MacBook Air (2024) in India
The new 13-inch MacBook Air equipped with the M3 chipset is priced at Rs. 1,14,900 for the base variant featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 8GB RAM variant with 512GB storage is priced at Rs. 1,34,900, while the 16GB RAM variant with 512GB storage comes at Rs. 1,54,900.
For the 15-inch MacBook Air, the pricing starts at Rs. 1,34,900 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option. The variant with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at Rs. 1,54,900, and the 16GB RAM variant with 512GB storage is available for Rs. 1,74,900. Both models come in midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey color options.
Preorders for the new M3-powered MacBook Air models are currently open in 28 countries, including India, with sales set to commence on March 8 through Apple Store and Apple Authorised Resellers.
Specifications and Features of the Apple MacBook Air (2024)
The latest MacBook Air models are powered by the M3 SoC, shared with the MacBook Pro (2023) lineup. Additionally, these laptops feature a new 16-core Neural Engine, enhancing on-device machine learning capabilities and positioning them as the “world’s best consumer laptop for AI.” The inclusion of an AV1 decode engine further elevates the video streaming experience.
According to Apple, the new chipset delivers a 60 percent performance boost compared to the M1 laptops and is 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air. Notable features include support for up to two external displays with the lid closed, WiFi 6E compatibility, Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum microphone modes, and an impressive battery life of up to 18 hours.
