The Oppo Watch X made its debut in Malaysia on Thursday, presenting itself as a potential rebrand of the OnePlus Watch 2, initially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 on February 26. This latest addition to the wearable technology market boasts a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and runs on the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset. Impressively, it promises a battery life of up to 48 hours for intensive usage in Smart Mode, up to 100 hours for standard use in Smart Mode, and a remarkable 12 days in Power Saving Mode.
As for its availability and pricing, the Oppo Watch X offers consumers two color variants: Mars Brown and Platinum Black, with a price tag of MYR 1,399 (approximately Rs. 24,500) for the single Bluetooth variant. It is currently up for grabs on the official Oppo website, initially launching exclusively in Malaysia. However, its availability in other markets remains uncertain, although speculations hinted at a potential launch in China come March.
When it comes to specifications, the Oppo Watch X boasts a 1.43-inch round AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, and a 2.5D sapphire crystal screen. Powering its operations is a Snapdragon W5 chipset, facilitating the smooth execution of Wear OS applications, alongside a BES2700 chip dedicated to RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) for background activity, complemented by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The Oppo Watch X doesn’t compromise on health features, offering all-day sleep tracking capabilities that monitor sleep state, quality, breathing rate, snoring risk assessment, and more. Moreover, it includes heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, and daily activity reminders. In terms of fitness tracking, users can take advantage of over 100 sports modes, six types of cardio machine recognition, professional sports modes, and more.
With a 500mAh battery under its hood, the Oppo Watch X boasts efficient charging capabilities, reportedly going from zero to 100 in just 60 minutes. Its battery life is commendable, delivering up to 48 hours with heavy usage, up to 100 hours in Smart Mode, and an impressive 12 days in Power Saver mode.
